Dispersant for high solids pigment formulations
HANDLING AND STORAGE
PRINCIPAL USES
SP M-3000can be stored over a wide range of tem-
peratures but should be warmed to 400F (50C) before
use. Should SP M-3000be subjected to severe
freezing conditions, warm and mix well before use. For
recommendations to maximize the performance of this
product, consult with your SNF INC. Sales Representative.
SP M-3000is a low molecular weight polyacrylate
dispersant commonly used in high solids pigment formula-
tions. SP M-3000is a neutralized process aid used
to obtain higher solids at lower viscosities. FLOSPERSETM
3000 gives excellent rheology control over a broad range
of pH and temperatures. This product is very effective in
clay, calcium carbonate and other pigments, as well as in
coating formulations containing these pigments.

PREPARATION AND FEEDING
SP M-3000is a single component polyacrylate
dispersant that must be prediluted in water before use. In
most cases, the product should not be applied neat. The
application rate or dosage of the product is dependant
upon the pigment system to be treated. On an active
basis, the application rate will be between 0.05% to 0.5%
by weight of pigment.
MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION
Cross-linked polyethylene, fiberglass, stainless steel or
lined steel are the preferred materials of construction for
bulk tanks. Avoid natural rubber and Buna-N gaskets as
these materials swell when placed in contact with neat
product. Unlined mild steel, black iron, galvanized steel,
copper or brass are not recommended in any part of the
feed system. Stainless steel, Viton or Teflon are the best choices for pump heads. For feed lines, use PVC or rein
forced Tygon tubing. |
